Position: Sales Associate (Part-Time/Full-Time) Reports to: Store Manager / Assistant Manager Wages starting at $14.00-$16.00 with room for growth.
Overview: Once Upon A Child is a retail store that buys and sells gently used kids’ clothing, toys, baby gear, and accessories. Our team provides excellent customer service while maintaining a fun, clean, and organized shopping environment.
Responsibilities:
• Customer Service: • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner • Answer questions about products, promotions, and store policies • Help customers find what they need and ensure a positive shopping experience
• Sales Floor: • Keep the sales floor neat, clean, and well-organized • Restock merchandise and maintain product displays • Tag and hang clothing, price toys, and organize shelves
• Buying Process: • Evaluate items customers bring in to sell based on condition, style, and brand guidelines • Enter items into the system and provide accurate quotes following store procedures • Explain the buying process clearly and professionally
• Cash Handling: • Operate the register accurately and efficiently • Process sales, returns, and exchanges • Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions responsibly
• Teamwork: • Work collaboratively with team members to meet store goals • Follow direction from management and support daily operations • Uphold company standards and contribute to a positive work environment
Qualifications:
• Friendly, energetic, and customer-focused
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and computer skills required
• Retail or customer service experience preferred (but not required)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs
• Bend, reach, and move merchandise as needed
